Walt Disney World Construction: Check Your Vacation Calendar
Construction is ongoing in Walt Disney World! As soon as you start researching your travel dates, keep an eye on our Walt Disney World Refurbishments and Closures page. The Castle Concierge knows that some closures can be disappointing and others devastating for families traveling to WDW. First-time visitors should be especially careful to prepare family members of a closed attraction prior to arriving Orlando. Your dream trip should be focused on fun rather than the parental chore of wiping tears away in front of a ride that is closed for refurbishment. Hey, I’ve even had to forewarn my adult-spouse about closures. There may still have been some tears (ha ha).
Unforeseen Circumstances at WDW
Of course, it’s also recommended that you’ll discuss with your traveling party that rides, shows, and experiences are sometimes hampered by weather, mechanical delays, and other unforeseen circumstances. Just recently, we were evacuated from the Frozen Ever After ride in Epcot due to a mechanical malfunction. Evacuees received return FastPasses. While individuals can get tired and cranky when theme parking for hours on end, try to find something to laugh about in these situations. Even if it’s just to mock your bad luck, a good giggle will have you re-focused to enjoy the rest of your day. 😉
WDW Resort Refurbishments
You’ll also want to watch for refurbishments at the Walt Disney World resorts. There are many construction projects going on throughout the hotels. Plus, resorts sometimes close restaurants, pools, etc. for renovation.
Many Walt Disney World refurbishments and closures are known far in advance. You can either change your travel dates or embrace all the other offerings at the resort. So that you stay informed, keep checking back to our Walt Disney World Refurbishments and Closures Page.
