About
Hi Disney Friends, I’m Kim!
My love of Disney travel began with a sixth-grade trip to visit my maternal grandparents in Florida. From then on, Walt Disney World became a favorite destination. In the years to follow, this special interest (maybe obsession!) was shared with the person who became my lifetime traveling companion—my husband, Michael. Memorable vacations include a honeymoon at the Grand Floridian, a Disney Mediterranean cruise, a vow renewal at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion, an Adventures by Disney Southern California trip (Disney Imagineering!), a week at Aulani in Hawaii, and stays at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort.
After becoming parents to our son, Nicolas, we inspired his love of Disney and travel as well! We taught him to follow his dreams; Nic has worked on payloads for the International Space Station and now works as an aerospace engineer for Pratt & Whitney.
After becoming empty-nesters, Michael and I made our dream move to Central Florida. We now enjoy date nights at Disney World!
Sharing my passion for all things Mouse-related became a reality when I was selected for the inaugural Walt Disney World Moms Panel (now known as planDisney) in 2008 and the inaugural Disney Cruise Line Panel in 2009. As one of the original 12 Disney Moms, I helped countless families plan their own dream-filled journeys.
For over a decade, I wore many hats for the Disney Food Blog, where I wrote and edited numerous guidebooks. Although I loved my work with DFB, it was time to take on a new challenge. Therefore, I’ve revived my blog while writing guidebooks for fellow dreamers, explorers, and mouse-eared adventurers.
In the summer of 2025, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m proud to be a survivor after enduring over a year of grueling treatments. Now, I want to give others hope. Follow my story at KimberlyHopes.com.
About
Hi, I’m Michael
My love for Disney travel began with a childhood trip to Disneyland.
Then, vacations to Walt Disney World sparked my interest in the man behind the magic—Walt Disney.
Plus, I’m a lifelong fan of Star Wars.
In addition to the amazing journeys that I’ve taken with my family, I’m a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with nearly 30 years of experience. Much of that time, has been spent providing behavioral treatment, supervision, training, and clinical consultation with families, mental health agencies, and special educators, relating to children exhibiting challenging behaviors and those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
One of my passions is teaching graduate level courses for Lipscomb University in Nashville and St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. My business, Behavioral Compass, also offers tutoring and BCBA supervision.
One of the coolest parts of my Orlando job is being able to take some of my clients to the parks. I love helping parents and kids find ways to navigate through some of the more overwhelming aspects of the theme parks.
In my spare time, I try to get to the Disney parks as much as possible. Kim and I enjoy looking for hidden gems that we can share with our readers.
